High Country Carpentry was established by Lain and Heather Hellmrich in 2005, fulfilling a dream for both of them to build beautiful homes in the very special area they grew up in, the Mackenzie.
Lain and Heather saw a demand for locally based, skilled carpenters who understood the climate, conditions and environmental issues in the high country, and to build homes they would stand-by, in years to come.
Both from long standing families of the area, Lain and Heather have gradually built up the business from just themselves initially, to now consistently employing a staff of 15.
Today, High Country Carpentry is committed to employing local Carpenters and Apprentices and continues to not only build a legacy of superior homes, but also build the skills of young men in the community.
Building sustainably is hugely important to us and wherever possible, we use locally grown timbers such as Douglas Fir, Macrocarpa and Larch. We work closely with local Architects, Designers and respected sub contractors, to create the best end-result for you.
High Country Carpentry maintain a strong ethical foundation with their clients and are transparent about all they do, providing clients with the reliability and accessibility expected from a trusted local provider.
We are passionate about our craft, the environment, the materials we use, and our region. We are a tight knit team, ‘Building the Mackenzie’.
